Introduction – Welcome to AccountTrace

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the AccountTrace service ("Service"), operated by AccountTrace ("we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you may not access the Service.

Acceptance of terms

By creating an account and using AccountTrace, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

Description of service

AccountTrace provides a privacy-focused platform for discovering and managing your online accounts. Our Service includes:

• Email scanning to discover online accounts (Gmail, IMAP)
• Secure storage of account information with encryption at rest
• Tools for organizing and managing your digital account inventory
• GDPR-compliant DSAR and account deletion email templates

User responsibilities

When using AccountTrace, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information when creating your account
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms
• Not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or other users' data

Subscription and payments

AccountTrace may offer free and paid subscription tiers. The features and limitations of each tier are described on our pricing or checkout page. Payments are processed securely through Stripe. By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel your subscription. You may cancel your subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, your subscription will remain active until the end of your current billing period, after which you will be downgraded to the free tier. We do not offer refunds for partial subscription periods. If you cancel, you retain access to paid features until the end of your billing period.

Privacy and data protection

We are committed to protecting your privacy. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information. We implement encryption at rest to protect your account data. All account information is encrypted before being stored on our servers. Data in transit is protected using TLS/SSL.

Limitation of liability

AccountTrace is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the Service.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we determine to be harmful to the Service or other users. You may terminate your account at any time through the settings page. Upon termination, all your data will be permanently deleted from our systems in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Changes to terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes via email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
